An exciting opportunity exists for a Business Development Manager to drive new business activity and assist in the realisation of the business plan for our Hong Kong studio. In this market-facing role, we’re looking for a true mover and shaker who is well networked within the design and property industries.

About the team

Embedded within our design teams are members of our Business Development team, who innately understand and anticipate clients’ needs. They represent the client perspective and ensure it comes into play through every stage of the design process, making sure we’re truly creating places people love.

About the role

As a Business Development Manager with Hassell, your primary focus will be on client engagement, the intelligent pursuit of opportunities and delivery of a persuasive pitch to convert the opportunities.

Amongst other things, the duties will include:

• Development of strategies for maintenance of existing relationships and generating new business
  
• Presenting the Hassell service offering to prospective clients and acting as the local face of Hassell
• Developing connections and relationships that lead to new business opportunities for Hassell in tightly defined market sectors 
• Maintenance of a healthy pipeline of leads and opportunities
• Development of sector plans; including financial targets, client management strategies and key must-win pursuits 
• Initiating and attending profile raising activities 
• Preparation of reports and analysis of new business achievements, opportunities and targets
• Leading in-house business development marketing related training for key personnel

About you

We are looking for a self-motivated Business Development Manager with experience in a similar design/architecture or professional services organisation. We want someone who is proactive in seeking building and maintaining working relationships at all levels.

You should also:

• Hold appropriate tertiary qualifications
• Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a comparable market facing role
• Ability to work and manage KPIs
• Extensive Microsoft Office and Adobe suite skills
• Experience in successfully managing budgets
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and advocacy skills
• Have excellent written and spoken Mandarin and English skills
