Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Managerto join Edgewell Personal Care – a global FMCG business with a portfolio of over 25 brands (Schick, PlayTex, Banana Boat, Hawaiian Tropic… just to name a few!).

This position leads all sales and business development activities of our Private Label (PBG) business in China with full P&L responsibility. This role will report to the Business Director China and a dotted line to VP, Global Emerging Markets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage business growth objectives for the assigned markets & customers in Mainland China
  • Build, align and execute Annual Business Plans
  • Develop growth strategy and execution plans
  • Manage, retain and develop existing customer relationships into strategic partnerships
  • Scout for new business opportunities within assigned region, evaluate prospects on basis of strategic alignment and business fundamentals and initiate new business relationships
  • Combine product knowledge with market understanding to develop portfolio and pricing strategy for assigned markets
  • Support customers & partners with best practices on category management & trade marketing
  • Finalize commercial terms of trade and negotiate customer contracts
  • Support customers with fact-based analysis of sales information to drive optimal decisions
  • Leverage understanding of international business to create optimal customer solutions including, but not limited to, logistics & operations efficiency, product type & sourcing, packaging configuration and pricing guardrails
  • Manage trade investments and deflators effectively
  • Conduct regular customer reviews to develop robust and timely reporting structure to allow quick decisionmaking
  • Develop and execute trade promotions per timeline and budget guidelines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience in a global or commercial organization with territory sales responsibilities
  • Detail-oriented and self-starter
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly matrixed environment
  • Working knowledge in transnational sourcing, cross-country logistics and Pricing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build partnerships and influence without having direct authority
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin
  • Strong knowledge of Category Management and basic e-commerce marketing principles
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and work effectively with other team members
  • Ability to prioritize and handle several projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
