Mission/Function of the Role: Manages business development activities, aligns sales strategies and grows business opportunities and revenue from new and existing market segments and channels for the assigned organizational units. What are responsibilities of the role? Defines and ensures the implementation of function related strategies, policies and guidelines, in line with the overall business strategy Ensures implementation of mandatory HQ Sales systematic elements Analysis of industry trends (market, technology, Regional aspects) and innovations Supports effectiveness of sales organizations via strategic initiatives / projects Drives and monitors key business development programs Reporting of generated industry specific business and respective market share charts Strategic industry focused competitor analysis and definition on actions Ensures accomplishment of strategic market research and key customer surveys to identify respective strategic business opportunities. Support of Country concepts and end customer strategy for industry relevant regional organizations Regularly check of regional opportunity funnel in order to ensure set targets Heads overall organization assigned and leads all related management and staff Agrees on budget plans related to subordinated functions and sets and monitors the achievement of respective targets Orchestrate access to Market Intelligence Information Drives accomplishment of regional Sales Competence Management tasks to ensure highly skilled sales organization. Performs long range strategic planning and analysis and prepares summaries, and/or performs operational activities enabling the exploitation of (vertical and product) markets. Generate and lead bid opportunities utilising your area of expertise that may be bid and sold to contribute to a strong Sales pipeline and facilitate meeting our sales targets, using knowledge of the industry and customers resulting in a winning tender. Performs project coordination in assigned projects and supplies information for the development of new strategies by ensuring an effective transfer from acquisition and sales phase to project implementation Completes market and business research as well as competitor analysis in relation to the DE Product Portfolio Performs analysis of strategic business segments, evaluates opportunities for new or existing Siemens products in new markets, channels or customer target groups. Participation in the systematic and structured identification of product and service and other technological gaps and requirements of the DE Business Portfolio. Be responsible for leading the bid when a new opportunity becomes a formal bid, ensuring that bid timescales are met. Input into the Customer Relationship Management tool to ensure all customer opportunities are captured and well communicated within the team. Collaborate and work with wider Sales team to support the Sales strategy and promote product business in the region Lead a team of professionals consisting of Sales Excellence, Partner Management and Digital Enterprise topics Qualifications and Experience: Minimum qualification with a degree diploma or comparable industrial experience. 10+ years relevant business development experience Good understanding of African Markets, Customer and Environment Excellent capabilities in communication, strategy and sales topics Ability to create and foster relationship and partnership with various stakeholder such a government, C-Level and strategic Customers. Familiarity with the various DI products, systems and solutions available from Siemens relevant to the target markets like Mining, Automotive or Water and Waste A basic understanding of Digitalization and Automation Experience of the business dynamics that drive the market sector is essential. We are looking for individuals who will have progressed well beyond pure product sales and will be experienced at building relationships and identifying the differentiators that create a business case within potential clients.
