Business Development Manager – Flight Centre Business Travel
Location: Shanghai

About the opportunity:
The role of a BDM is to acquire new travel business in accordance with Flight Centre’s sales process and systems to achieve agreed targets. He/she will develop business relationships with key decision makers in organizations, clubs and associations to create new sales opportunities by means of networking, client profiling and cold calling. The BDM will present Flight Centre Business Travel products and services in a compelling manner to maximize sales and profitability of new business.
Key Responsibilities:
? Generate own leads and opportunities
? Actively network in local and business communities to seek opportunities for new business
? Identify relevant Chambers, Associations, Schools, Consulates & other social/sporting groups as potential partners for travel services
? Attend trade fairs, expos, industry events
? Meet agreed KPI’s for lead generation, conversion and new accounts
? Negotiate deals with suppliers and customers to maximize profitability of new business
? Work with marketing team on tactical campaigns and offers to drive sales activity
? Assist with the development of sales collateral and promotional initiatives
? Utilize and update CRM system for all client activity
? Gather competitor intelligence to effectively counter competitor offerings
? Building and maintaining effective working relationships with key procurement managers, travel bookers, travelers and preferred suppliers to optimize the success of the travel program, for the benefit of our customers.
? Communicating regularly with clients on day-to-day program management and more formally through periodic reviews as agreed
? Acting as liaison between the client and Flight Centre to resolve any client complaints
Key Requirements:
? At least 3 years in a sales position, preferably in the travel industry
? Demonstrated track record of achieving aggressive sales targets
? Large personal and business network
? Highly motivated and target driven with a positive attitude
? Proficient with desktop publishing tools (ie. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
? Strong interpersonal skills, ability to network at all levels in expatriate and local environment
? Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin speaking is non-compulsory but an advantage.
? Well presented with a high degree of professionalism
? Strong negotiation skills and business acumen
? Excellent team player
? Excellent listening skills – must have demonstrated ability to identify client needs and solve their problems
