Eaton, formerly Cobham Mission Systems is seeking a Business Development Manager - Environmental for their Westminster, MD location. The Business Development Manager –Environmental is accountable to drive revenue growth by leading front-end pursuits and campaigns for existing and new life support and pressure vessel technologies, services and applications for existing customers (Business Development) as well as new customers (Market Development) within the ever expanding and exciting Space segment as well as ancillary markets. This individual with own identification of opportunities and associated value propositions, working across the business to ensure successful delivery of market accepted technical solutions time-phased to ensure long-term market success and customer satisfaction. This role will entail management of pursuits through to contract award / handover phase, development of a strong opportunity pipeline that supports the Capabilities and Division’s strategic and long- range goals while serving as the liaison between engineering and military/commercial end users / subject matter experts to develop the space life support and pressure vessel solutions growth pipeline. This role will be the Environmental Capabilities (Space) lead with the ability to help lead and drive broader Eaton strategy in this emerging market space. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Use Shipley best practice to identify, qualify and develop revenue opportunities. Understand customer needs and shape new business requirements Develop and execute win strategies to bring innovative solutions to customers Act as a capture manager or be part of a capture team Act as 'voice of the customer' and encourage team behaviours that focus on adding value and delivering customer benefits Grow pipeline health to exceed order intake targets to support revenue generation for the space life support and pressure vessels business Drive quality and timely responses of customer deliverables. Drive the Capability through appropriate Business Win Gate decisions with a pragmatic view of the Capabilities ability to deliver a solution in line with overall opportunity objectives. Own pursuit through contract negotiation and acceptance to Program hand-off Provide input to internal business strategy development, market analysis, long-range growth plans, and product and technology roadmaps Recommend potential partnerships, investments and M&A opportunities Why work at Eaton? Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications and Experience Master’s degree or international equivalent in a technical or business related discipline from an ABET accredited program; Salesforce or Customer Relationships Management (CRM) software experience Sustained achievement of short range and long range organic growth plans through excellent pipeline management and strategies Strong knowledge of customer and end-user operational needs and buying influences. Demonstrated strong commercial acumen in relevant business contracting environment. Must have a thorough understanding of space life support systems and pressure vessel technologies Proven ability to be proactive in approach and demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and captures simultaneously and effectively Must be able to function in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary sales and business development environment.
