Job Description

Novotel Melbourne on Collins is seeking a Business Development Manager for a parental leave contract of 14 months starting July 2022.

We are a contemporary style 4.5 star comfort hotel conveniently located in the very heart of Melbourne on fashionable Collins Street close to the Town Hall, Federation Square and retail and theatre districts. Featuring 380 guest rooms and suites, bar and restaurant, swimming pool and gym with 8 flexible conference & function venues feature state-of-the-art, conference technology. The ballroom accommodates events of up to 400 delegates in a theatre-style setup or 230 guests for banquets.

 

What you will be doing:

Supporting the Director of Commercial Performance and the commercial team in day to day Sales & Marketing functions with tasks consisting of:

  • Oversee new business, development and retention of sales opportunities and partnerships for the hotel.
  • Assist in creating sales strategies for the Corporate, Conference and Group segments and implement and monitor effectiveness.
  • Act as the hotel representative for all proactive client relationship activities across all market segments.

Your experience and skills include:

  • Demonstrated sales experience in a hotel or related travel industry
  • Results orientated with a proven ability towards achieving sales targets and portfolio KPIs
  • Possess strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Passionate about your client based building trusted relationship management
  • Well developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise towards meeting time deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using Opera (PMS) and a CMS System (ANAIS/Salesforce) would be advantageous
