Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager operating in Siemens focused vertical industries. The process analytics market is a demanding, application driven sector focusing on high technology solutions to a number of different customer bases including Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Waste To Energy, Power Generation, Steel and the developing Hydrogen Economy and Alternative Energy sector.


Our business may be direct with end-users or via channel partners so the ability of the Business Development Manager to influence specification, maintain long-term customer relationships and develop strategic partnerships within the UK process analytics market is key to the future growth and success of the business.

 

Key areas of responsibility will include: -

    Understanding of the market drivers in order to implement a strategic plan to increase the Analytical Products business levels and opportunities within the UK market.

    Develop relationships with key decision makers to clearly identify the AP potential and drive specification.

    Full co-operation with the UK DI PA Account Development Managers & HQ Support partners to leverage maximum business potential from all relevant Vertical Industry focused accounts.

    Work with established Siemens Analytical Products strategic partners to further develop relationships and opportunities.

    Identify & develop new Specialist Analytical Partners across UK & Ireland

    Identify & develop focused OEM accounts to develop sustainable delta growth

    Work with all relevant Siemens UK & Ireland colleagues to maximise business opportunities where possible.

    Accurately and regularly maintain account information using Siemens CRM tool, SieSales

    Achieve agreed sales targets.

 

The Person

Qualified to minimum HNC/Degree level or equivalent with an engineering or science focus we are looking for suitably qualified sales personnel who have the ability to work proactively to develop the Business for Siemens Analytical Products.  Also vital to this role is the familiarity with the various products, systems and solutions available from Siemens relevant to the target vertical markets and strategic levers in line with the overall DI PA sales strategy.

 

This is a demanding and challenging opportunity that requires candidates to have a consistent track record in sales, which will readily establish credibility in dealing with key accounts located across the UK  Experience of the business dynamics that drive this market sector is desirable.  We are looking for individuals who will have progressed well beyond pure product sales and will be experienced at identifying the differentiators that create a business case with potential clients.

 

We are looking for determined, enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who have the desire to both develop existing accounts and win new business opportunities.  

 

Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation are essential.  The ability to work under pressure & to work on your own initiative is also required. 


Main Competencies required:

    Technical competence in gas chromatography

    Technical competence in Siemens CGA range, including laser analysers

    Technical competence in systems integration

    Strategy development i.e. identifying possible new markets and how to break into them.

    Customer relationship & Sales skills

    Financial competence i.e. ability to correctly price products and service

    Continuous improvement skills

    Technical awareness

    Project management awareness
