The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a field sales position responsible for developing and growing the business of oncology in SEASG. BDM will cooperate with Sales team and channel partners to achieve the sales target of oncology product portfolio and territories. Based on SEA sales manager’s strategies and focus area, BDM will actively drive the focus and lead the market development activities.

Ideally, the individual will have in-depth knowledge of the oncology market. S/he must have a proven track record in delivering and/or overachieving target revenue. Strong business acumen and connections with key opinion leaders in SEA will be important. Most importantly, s/he will play an exciting pivotal role in charting, shaping and implementing the replacement of traditional single gene testing, FISH and IHC to Ion Torrent Next Generation Sequencing in SEA.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

  • Identify roadblocks to growing oncology market in SEA, develop and drive projects with customers, internal teams and partners to overcome the challenges.
  • Identify oncology trends, engage early and collaborate with key oncologists in SEA and SG to develop projects.
  • To develop and own key relationships of KOLs in SG and SEA. They maybe policy makers, hospital administrators, clinicians and pathologists.
  • Knowledge sharing and technical competency training.
  • New Hire technical training for AM, channel manager, channel partners.
  • Identification of best practices to share across the region.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s or PhD degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience is desirable.
  • More than 5 years experiences in commercial, sales or marketing in life sciences, diagnostics or pharmaceutical background.
  • Experiences in driving national reimbursement programs will be an advantage.
  • Experiences in driving health economics impact studies will be an advantage.
  • Must have scientific consulting acumen - demonstrates understanding of oncology applications within a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of other genetic platforms will be valued.
  • Accomplished sales skills, can speak to competitive technologies and demonstrates value as a supporting partner in the pre-sales process, while also independently driving sales to meet sales targets.
  • Must have great influencing skills to navigate in complex matrix organization and distributors management.
  • Persevere with great sales rigor to get results through others.
  • 50% travel required.
