Eaton’s Corporate Development and Planning team is currently seeking a Business Economist to join our team. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Beachwood, OH. Relocation assistance is offered. Position Overview: The primary function of the role is to support the economics and corporate development and planning team by conducting economic and market research as well as data analysis. The position will examine economic data from government and industry sources and stay up to date with global economic developments. In this role, you will: Conduct economic analysis on key Eaton geographies Create and deliver management presentations on economic and market developments Develop weekly and monthly economic briefings for senior leadership Create and maintain economic forecasting models Foster relationships with business stakeholders to align on key planning processes Analyze industry peers, suppliers, and customers to understand market dynamics Lead data analytics initiatives and key projects When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics and/or Finance from accredited institution Minimum two (2) years’ experience in business economics, economic forecasting, and/or equity research Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, and/or statistics 3-5 years of work experience in economics Proficiency and/or ability to quickly learn statistical software programs such as Eviews, Stata, R, SAS, etc. Position Success Criteria: Advanced MS Office proficiency, especially in Excel and PowerPoint Exceptional presentation and communication skills Detail oriented with a strong focus on numerical analysis A keen desire to learn and understand developments and trends in the global economy, financial markets, geopolitical events, and their impacts on a large global industrial company Eaton also considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
