The Challenge

If we look at today’s operations and business world, there are various challenges:

Dynamic business environment, Changing customer needs, Pressure on costs, Competition, Sustainability or Green targets, complex structures & systems etc.

Within DSM Engineering Plastics, we believe that if each function looks at their own process and starts contributing towards improvements it is always a step in the good direction, but it won’t lead to a fast change in terms of productivity gains or won’t help in addressing the challenges mentioned above.

In this role you will have the opportunity to learn/understand the overall value chain. But we also expect you to learn fast with end-to-end process and improvements as a goal, so although we are looking for specialists we encourage you not to limit yourself to your own expertise/function.

You will be able to help the business by clearing the clouds of perceptions and enabling fact/data based decisions. With this input you will be able to influence cross functional teams, functional leaders & other concerned stakeholders without any authority.

You will like this position if you are open to learn new things and have an open view on what is best in class, keeping an outside-in view. Also, if you like analyzing raw data into facts and presenting them to stakeholders. Most importantly you like to create good rapport and trust with all stakeholders to drive value and create improvements that have an impact on the whole business.

The position

Main tasks evolving your function:

• Together with business stakeholders define the productivity improvement projects.
• Create and manage the projects on budget, time, short- and long-term results.
• Maintain/enhance the project management & problem-solving capabilities in the organization.
• Evaluate the projects and report results and recommendations for improvement of the execution of future projects.
  

  The ideal

  You have/are:

• At least 4 to 6 years functional experience (Business/commercial/excellence)
• Deep knowledge in Customer Facing Business functions (Commercial/Application Development, Commercial excellence, or Supply Chain or Product management)
• BSc / MSc level in Technology/Engineering discipline (Chemical/Mechanical)
• Green or Black Belt Lean Six Sigma certification
