ABB’s Electrification business is a leading provider of a full range of protection, control and measurement solutions - enabling safer and smarter electricity flow from substation to the point of consumption. We deliver products and systems designed to connect, protect and control electrical systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency and safety for equipment and personnel.

You will support managers and employees to deliver a high-performing culture through clear line management accountability and a competent organization in the Electrifications business based in Hanoi/Bac Ninh. Reporting to the business unit HSE Manager you will lead by example, applying your in-depth HSE knowledge to provide solutions and advice to address a variety of challenges.

Your responsibilities

• Playing HSE Manager for Electrification Business and taking the Country HSE lead by driving improvement in Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance to ensure a high-performing health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on the environment.
• Driving continuous improvement by implementing the Group-wide Health, Safety and Environment management system (The ABB Way), training, improvement programs and BU-specific programs.
• Overseeing the auditing of Electrifications business according to the Group Assurance & Audit Program.
• Empowering the management team to understand obligations, liability, how to fulfil their roles according to local HSE law and ABB requirements and how to drive behavioral change.
• Facilitating HSE risk assessments by line management involving those directly and indirectly affected by hazards, ensuring all processes and corrective actions are implemented to protect our employees from harm.
• Reporting on performance of ABB Sustainability objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs) and HSE incidents, as required in global reporting systems.
• Engaging internal and external stakeholders and cooperating with other functions to raise awareness and gain commitment to ABB Group Sustainability objectives.
• Participating in defining the annual HSE budget for Electrifications business, monitoring and managing performance against agreed-upon financial targets and constraints.
• Planning and executing HSE-related projects, managing resources and reporting on objectives and progress to milestones.

Your background

• A degree in Health & Safety or Environment Management.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in organizational health safety management and at least 3 years of experience in people management.
• Specialised knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
• International Certificate of Health safety and Environment Management.
• Strong command over written, verbal English communication.
• Ability to deal and influence people within organizations related to HSE program.
• Good planning, organizing, decision making, problem solving and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage complex issues and work with cross-functional teams.
• A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
