SUMMARY
Position: Business+Legal Studies/Accounting Teacher (University of New South Wales Foundation Year Program)
Salary: EXTREMELY competitive
Hire Date: For September 2014, Direct Hire by Employer

The University of New South Wales Foundation Year Program is the most prestigious and rigorous Australian based English-immersion Foundation Program in Asia. Together with its primary China partner, the AHEAD Education Group, the program operates in key 4* and 5* Chinese high schools where students substitute their senior year of high school with the Foundation Year Program. Since 2007, over 90% of students have entered Australian G8 Universities and over 75% have entered the top 3. The curriculum and assessment procedures of the program are supervised by the University of New South Wales Department of Course Design and Quality Assurance.
The teacher reports to the Program Manager and Academic Director. Teachers are responsible for delivering the full content of their subject matter. All materials and lesson plans are provided by the university and academic support is available both locally and from senior subject heads in Australia. Teachers are also responsible for participation in various departmental and school groups endeavors, other activities as assigned by the administration. Students enrolled in the program are selected based on prior achievement and/or testing.
Major Responsibilities
• Adequately prepare and teach a normal load of classes (18-22 classes/week) as assigned.
• Deliver subject material as prepared for UNSW
• Assess and report on students' progress.
• Deliver scheduled progress reports and at other times as necessary.
• Provide individual or small-group academic help to students.
• Communicate with management and colleagues locally and abroad.
• Prepare students for UNSW final exams
• Proctor examinations
• Perform other duties as necessary or as assigned.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in relevant teaching field, Master's degree preferred.
• TESOL certificate and/or relevant Academic English Teaching experience.
• Ability to work cooperatively and diplomatically with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration in a foreign cultural environment.
• Commitment to student learning and to continued professional development.
• Ability to engage students in learning.
Please note that this job is full time and the program is more akin to an international school program with a structured curriculum and protocol. Teachers are expected to be professional, available, and team players.
