Position Summary
The Business Development Manager drives opportunities to increase growth for our Microbiology business as well as our wider Thermo Fisher Scientific business within the Indonesia market. They achieve this by having a deep understanding of the Indonesia market, the key opinion leaders, and key stakeholders within the Healthcare and Agri market verticals. They also have strong capabilities in building relationships with key opinion leaders in market, identifying and capturing market expansion opportunities, efficient and effective channel partner management as well as driving collaboration and the development of strong relationships with other Thermo Fisher teams.

Position Summary

They achieve this by having a deep understanding of the Indonesia market, the key opinion leaders, and key stakeholders within the Healthcare and Agri market verticals. They also have strong capabilities in building relationships with key opinion leaders in market, identifying and capturing market expansion opportunities, efficient and effective channel partner management as well as driving collaboration and the development of strong relationships with other Thermo Fisher teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new opportunities, cultivate the partnerships and relationships needed to capture new business and expand the potential of existing business to achieve the financial goals of Microbiology Division as well as the wider Thermo Fisher Scientific business in Indonesia.
- Drive business results through a channel partner model. Preparing plans and budgets for the designated channel partners and exceed annual sales and gross profit targets for those partners. Make recommendations and implement action plans to ensure sales stay on plan. Execute consistently on plan targets.
- Set annual pricing for the channel partners and ensure this is maintained in line with policy. To provide quotations for distributors if supported prices are requested and manage collation of all documents for tender submissions.
- Monitor market trends and intelligence including competition, macroeconomics, and the regulatory environment, and use it to influence/drive incremental revenue targets.
- Identify and evaluate market opportunities for growth, engaging cross Division to drive business development opportunities and enable them to expand share of the addressable market.
- Collaborate with Divisional teams to develop plans that drive incremental growth in key accounts and enhance go-to-market strategies that are in line with business objectives.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships, help create winning proposals, find new customers, Incubate products and solutions with early adopters.
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of all business development activities, distributor (and local competitor) sales and marketing activities and any factors affecting sales.
- Maintain a high degree of knowledge of company products and policies and ensure distributor training needs are fully met. Coordinate any training requirements with marketing and technical support.
- Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Thermo Fisher Scientific policies and applicable laws
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Graduate with life sciences degree (preferably Microbiology)
- At least 10 years’ experience in Sales and business development
- In depth understanding of the Food/Agri and/or Healthcare/Biopharma market segments (preferably with experience in Microbiology)
- Experience in dealing with government bodies, multiple large and complex projects
- Successful sales record
- Capable of managing major and complex accounts
- Competent with financial planning and analysis
- Excellent communicator, verbally and in writing
- Commercially aware, highly motivated and target driven
- Customer orientated and able to drive activities that improve customer satisfaction
- Strong presentation skills
- Systematic problem solving by working with customers and internal team.
- Take ownership and able to demonstrate leadership in all aspects
- Ability to work in a global and multicultural team
- Must be self-motivated and enjoy challenges.
