Eaton’s Residential & Wiring Device Division is seeking a Business Operations Manager for its Marina Power and Lighting business unit. The Business Operations Manager position will be located at the facility in historic Williamsburg, VA. Position Overview: The Business Operations Manager serves as the head of the Marina Power and Lighting (MP&L) business unit and is responsible for leading a group of 50+ direct and indirect employees in developing and executing initiatives to drive profitability, volume, mix and market share improvement for the MP&L business. Key responsibilities include leading the development and execution of the strategic plan, product roadmap, the development of new sales channels as well as the successful performance of all operating metrics (High 5) in order to exceed all profit plan goals. This person will have full ownership of the business, an opportunity which feeds into a broader General Manager track within Eaton. Essential Functions: In this role, you will: Act as sales and marketing agent in conjunction with MP&L Sales team, RWDD, & NAS Sales to ensure top line sales objectives are met by identifying and developing prospective new customers, monitoring trends and significant issues in the local marketplace, and working with Division leaders in providing direction during the strategic planning process Oversee the development of the MP&L product line strategy, new product development, and launch execution in order to service the changing industry and grow organically within the core markets. Develop forward looking profit plan and monthly forecasts with accuracy so that the operation meets these numbers monthly; responsibilities include procurement, efficient execution of services being offered / cost control, leveraging subcontractors, inventory management, and turn of backlog and applicable projects. Effectively manage and maintain MP&L’s Leadership Model, MESH, ISO, and Quality Management Systems to maintain safety, regulatory, quality, and other strategic processes while meeting all stakeholder expectations. Foster a zero-incident safety culture through deployment of environment, health and safety (MESH) initiatives and safety-focused leadership to ensure strict compliance with safety and regulatory policies, and adherence to safety programs. Cultivate a high-performance work culture through facility management activities, organizational communications, and positive employee relations. Build organizational capability by providing leadership and coaching in talent acquisition, goal alignment, employee development, and performance management. Key interface with customers, North American sales force, manufacturing plants, product division management, and functional support staff. Oversee coordination with plants and business units within the company and outside vendors to procure parts and services for MP&L. Assign or complete other tasks as necessary based on changing business conditions. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience in a manager of people role Minimum three (3) years of sales and / or marketing experience within the electrical/industrial space Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience with progressive levels of accountability and responsibility Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution, in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or Manufacturing Minimum five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing / operations Lean, Six Sigma, or other Operation Excellence experience / certification ISO 9001 experience P&L management experience Position Criteria: Knowledge and understanding of the Marina, RV and temporary power products and solutions. Working knowledge of financial statements and business financial management. Understanding of financial impact of manufacturing and business decisions. Working knowledge of quality programs such as Eaton Business Excellence, Lean Performance, Six Sigma, 5S, etc. Solid negotiation skills and market knowledge including competitor products. Sales and marketing experience in CRDS product offering is highly recommended. Strong interpersonal and communication skills used for review, motivation, and development of all employees.
