As Business Process Expert in Philips you play a key role in the creation, deployment and maturing of capabilities necessary to stay successful in a rapidly transforming world. In this role you will be one of the owners for the Price Management domain that spans price setting, communication, getting, discount & approval and performance management in line with Philips’ commercial policy. This is a key part of the commercial end to end customer engagement cycle that runs from new product introduction to cash. As part of a divers global team you will get the opportunity to leverage your domain experience and develop new skills: you will lead and support the continuous improvement of current and development of new ways of working, ensure its deployment and adoption throughout the organization and drive performance. You will do this in close collaboration with business stakeholders subject matter experts and peers in markets, businesses, and functions like R&D, operations and finance, with whom you will build a strong network. Specific focus will be on delivering and deploying new capabilities in the main transformational programs aimed to deliver an improved backbone for quotation, contracting, eCommerce and sales partner management. As our ideal candidate you bring solid experience, creativity and drive combined with a pragmatic, result oriented attitude focused on impact and performance.

Your challenge

In close collaboration with stakeholders in the markets and businesses you design and deliver effective price management capabilities to the global Philips businesses and markets. This ranges from price setting and associated commercial policies to how to apply pricing, associated discounts and approvals during the quoting and contracting process, review of price performance and relevant controls like SoX and ICS. Special focus will be on price management for emerging new deal types like subscriptions or pay per use. You will create globally harmonized business processes as the basis for existing and new to be developed (IT) tools and ensure change management in the organization to move and adopt our people to new and more effective ways of working. Main focus will be on a key transformation program called NPI to Cash, which aims to deliver a new transactional backbone – from solution introduction, opportunity, quotation and contract to order and fulfilment management – that supports our current business as well as the transition from a product to a solutions business. Your success is the positive impact from enabling our organization to better manage and apply pricing in the NPI2C scope. Leveraging your own experience and based on internal and external best practices and insights you help to enable our organization to effectively sell, transact and deliver current and new solutions that are a key element of the Philips growth strategy. Typical criteria for success are on time delivery, user adoption and on target performance. With this you will build and operate a strong network of business stakeholders, subject matter experts and peers.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage and support the design, build and lead deployment of new capabilities (process, tool, people, data) for the Price Management domain, covering pricing models for (new) deal types, opportunity management (CRM), configure-price-quote (CPQ), contract management and order management with associated performance reporting and controls management

  • Maintain, develop, and safeguard relevant processes and KPIs according to standard architecture as part of the Philips Excellence Process Framework (PEPF)

  • Interact and collaborate with stakeholders and peers in the markets, business and supporting functions like IT, Enterprise Information Management and Philips University to ensure capabilities are well designed, deployed and adopted in line with the business’s needs

  • Drive real change through implementation, adoption and continuous improvement of processes, solutions and best practices in our markets and businesses.

  • Initiate, challenge, support and lead improvement opportunities in the pricing domain.

  • Drive and manage capability performance in line with defined KPIs and business objectives

  • Build and operate a strong network of stakeholders, subject matter experts and peers in Markets, Businesses and other functions

The organization

You will join a divers global Business Process Excellence team for the Price Management domain, where you will you will support the markets and businesses in different areas of commercial capability building, talent and competency development and performance management. More specifically you will be part of a one of the key End2End transformation programs called NPI to Cash. You will report to the Business Process Owner (BPO) for Market to Order (M2O). The work location is Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

What we are looking for in the ideal candidate

  • Minimal 5 years of international experience in the Price Management in the commercial domain, with demonstrable experience in price setting/management for products/solutions/services, price application in quoting and contracting, Sox/ICS controls and performance management and reporting

  • Pragmatic business acumen, understanding the value of standard work and practical solutions

  • Experience with professional concepts like, Lean, Problem Solving, Daily Management

  • Hands-on experience with current IT platforms for Price, Quotation and Contract Management like Salesforce.com, SAP and QlikView

  • Working knowledge of the company’s or similar products and services.

  • Strong communicator, able to interact with internal and external stakeholders, experts and peers at different levels

  • Team player and natural collaborator

  • Able to change the thinking of or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.

  • Structured, organized and stress resilient personality able quickly to understand the issues and bring together necessary resources to resolve them

  • Self-starter who takes initiative, values impact over effort and is motivated to drive performance

  • Master’s degree by education or work experience

  • Willing to travel internationally up to 20% of the time

  • Fluent in English speaking and writing, other languages preferred
