Job Description

Business Process Owner (BPO) is a key role within the Corporate Controller's (CCO) Global Process Owner (GPO) Office responsible for definition, design, implementation, and adoption of Record to Report (R2R) processes, systems and policies for specific domain areas across the global organization to be consistent with CCO's five operating principles: accountability, transparency, optimization, scale, and employee experience. He/she is responsible for global process and systems standardization and optimization, and accelerating automation of specific domain areas in the R2R function while adhering to standard functionality from a suite of current, agile, and flexible ERP and EPM applications that leverage a unified data model.

The BPO will play a critical role in delivering the GPO's modernization vision and priorities as we transform the way we deliver back-office support, building flexible solutions to support the business today and in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Policy: For specific domain areas He/she will support CCO operations and the GPO office by gathering data from and understanding the R2R organization, Intel business, and other Intel stakeholder requirements; define objectives and standards for policy, processes, systems and data to meet such requirements; develop the global process structure, governance and ownership, including operational goals and objectives following a single best global standard practice for each process stream; he/she will partner with the operations delivery lead to ensure the execution of the processes is consistent with standards and expectations; and monitor and report on process performance in meeting stakeholder requirements and key benchmarks.
  • Process Design: He/she understands the end to end process(es) standards, data hierarchy, variations, pain points, systems, and control environment, and can translate this knowledge into deliverables and plans that meet objectives; and he/she understands the as-is state, defines the desired to-be state and identifies process improvement opportunities to streamline, eliminate, standardize and automate process for specific domain areas within the R2R function by aligning and collaborating closely with R2R operations and other stakeholders to achieve desired end state.
  • Digital Sensing: For specific domain areas he/she defines and designs the R2R system and process foundation to be flexible, agile, and responsive to changing business paradigms utilizing a standard suite of integrated applications based upon a unified data model that provides stakeholders with a simplified experience and an ability to access real time data via self-service analytics and reporting. He/she remains abreast of relevant emerging technologies and other digital solutions; and establishes connections and collaborates with other functional process and IT teams.
  • Organization Capability: He/She defines critical business process acumen for specific domain areas, assesses organization knowledge/skills, orchestrates process and business acumen training to develop and sustain key capabilities for the organization to meet objectives


Success in the role requires the following:

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep understanding of General Ledger, chart of accounts, financial master data, end-to-end R2R processes and systems/technology in responsible domain areas as well activities upstream from our general ledger that can impact performance, quality, or throughput of R2R execution and downstream to EPM and business intelligence systems.
  • Planning and Disciplined Execution: Leverage deep subject area expertise to plan, prioritize, resource, and deliver process improvement efforts for domain areas based on the understanding of R2R strategic objectives, upcoming business model shifts and related enterprise initiatives.
  • Process Improvement and Design: Apply best practice process design methods to make informed recommendations regarding process standardization and how best to improve it with best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Problem-solving: Identify core process breakdowns, analyze potential causes. Prioritize pain points and identify options to implement the most effective solutions. Understand customer needs and innovate to serve and solve customer and business needs - rationalized for what is essential for the organization.
  • Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with other BPO's and teams to align priorities, synchronize process improvement plans, lead, and engage the right experts to design across functions, and influence recommended changes to optimize the end-to-end process.
  • Change Management: Define change impacts, understand the organization's ability to absorb change and take deliberate action to ensure stakeholders and service delivery teams are ready and able to implement changes smoothly and consistently across the globe.
  • Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate across multiple stakeholders including IT, accounting, and other stakeholders. Ability to summarize and present to GPO's and other leaders.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master Degree with 10+ years of experience in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience working closely within an enterprise's ERP instance, preferably SAP, and related initiatives.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
