Assists in the execution of insurance operations strategy through the implementation of key transformation projects that will modernize insurance operations’ systems and processes, improving the after-sales service delivery of Philam Group’s customers.

The jobholder will also be responsible in planning, mobilizing, and directing projects of medium complexity and scale from definition to closure. The jobholder is typically responsible for the end to end delivery of a single project or workstream of a larger project or programme, proactively balancing scope, schedule, budget, risks, outcomes and benefits. The jobholder will work with other teams within the Philam Group, where required ie. Marketing, Operations, Local IT and Group IT departments to ensure alignment of their project with the wider change portfolio.

  • Lead the TDA transformation initiatives to achieve fast, simple and easy customer service that provides a consistent experience through traditional and digital channels.
  • Proactively monitors project execution to effectively identify risks/issues/dependencies as they arise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Plans effectively around delivery constraints and optimize the plan to maximize benefits and minimize risk.
  • Enhance operations cost efficiency through active management of the project plan, scope, requirements, effort and resources, budgets and quality.
  • Collaborates and builds positive stakeholder and business partner relationships providing regular updates to resolve high priority issues affecting the project.
  • Obtains buy-in from the project sponsor, steering committee and other business stakeholders for all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, quality assurance plans, budget, schedule and scope changes
  • Sets the pace and operating rhythm, driving a culture of achievement and ensures pace by identifying and removing barriers to project success.
  • Continually assess technology utilization in the insurance operations processes and develop annual plans for developments in key application systems.
  • Analyses management reports, and derives insights from it to drive the right business decisions. 

Minimum Job Requirements :

  • Degree in: Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Accountancy, Mathematics, Master’s Degree is of great advantage
  • A minimum of 5-7 years experience in insurance or financial service operations or Project Management
  • A broad and thorough understanding of the corporate and financial services industry and of the operational model of a life insurance company
  • Solid understanding of service operations, standards and quality improvements
  • Strong ability to execute on strategic initiatives. Solid skills in analyzing, recommending and driving improvements, and actively looking for create and innovative ways to do things
  • Experience in change management program and transformation
  • Communicate effectively both spoken and written with people internally and externally at different levels
  • Proven experience in working within an environment of rapid change to execute system implementations, process improvement, and change management
  • Accreditations preferred – PMP, Prince II, Six Sigma, or other relevant accreditations such as ITIL, Big Data, TOGAF
