Business Travel Account Executive

For this role, our successful candidate will bring a strong analytical and strategic thinking approach, a curious mind, and aspirations for a career in Hotel sales.  Key responsibilities will be working with the Director, Business Travel in analyzing current accounts, collecting and deciphering industry and competitor trending, and applying appropriate strategies to build Business Travel and Wholesale business into the Hotel. Our new team member will be a positive, energetic contributor with strength in data analysis and interpretation, and a desire to work with a dynamic team in a creative environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop an understanding of the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and how to sell against them
  • Review detailed technical metrics performance data and validate that the content provided is accurate and correct
  • Collaborate with Director, Business Travel to collect data needed to aid decision-making
  • Produce written materials describing data analyses, including key trends, events, and milestones.
  • Prepare weekly reports highlighting market trends, account development and new prospects
  • Work with Director, Business Travel in establishing the presence and enhancing the image of The Fairmont Washington D.C., Georgetown & Accor in all Individual Travel market segments
  • Research, identify, target and enhance relationships with new and existing non-key Corporate, Consortia & University accounts.
  • Focus efforts on accounts with significant potential revenue for the Hotel
  • Work with existing accounts and conduct quarterly reviews with Travel Managers to ensure accounts are on pace to meet targeted goals
  • Develop measurable targeted action plans for account penetration and growth.
  • Assist with annual RFP negotiations and annual contract renewals
  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Coaching and collaborating with associates who assist with this work, including providing coaching and feedback

Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous experience in Business Sales/ Data Analytics preferred
  • General knowledge in IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications, Opera and Excel and or relevant applications required
  • Working knowledge of Hotelligence 360 Reports and Hotel IQ is strongly preferred
  • University/College degree in a related discipline
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Knowledge of local DC corporate market and luxury consortia market preferred
