As Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic Disease Director you will lead the unit’s marketing and sales strategy by managing the team and maximizing the product life cycle, in order to improve the quality of life’s patients.
Responsibilities:
Strategic initiatives
- Impact on the organization with a strong leadership by being the referent in terms of cross-functional work.
- As a member of the SMT, promote strategic initiatives as Sponsor and enhance the business plans of other areas.
- Be an ambassador in its internal and external interactions, of the corporate image and values of AZ.
Business plan
- Lead and define the Business Unit strategy (Marketing and Sales Plan) in line with the company’s challenges and objectives.
- Control the profit and loss account (P & L) of the area by achieving an adequate balance in its current and future business.
- Implement an adequate, efficient and properly sized organizational structure for potential products and business.
- Ensure that local initiatives are aligned and supported by European guidelines.
Implementation
- Design and validate the objectives, plans and budgets of the area.
- Supervise revenues and expenses by brand and product.
- Represent the organization in different audiences (international KEEs, scientific societies, cooperative groups, etc.).
- Promote the cross-functional alignment of the different areas based on the set up strategy.
Team management and development
- Establish team’s vision and mission based on AZ strategy, objectives and values.
- Improve team’s performance by managing the available tools (performance evaluation, coaching, feedback, training identification, talent management, etc.).
- Support the development of the team by focusing on consolidation of its strengths and the enhancement of its improvement areas for motivation and adequate climate.
- Manage area’s succession plans and develop plans to cover them in case of vacant positions.
Compliance
- Ensure that all activities related to the role and the Business Unit comply with applicable external and internal regulations (policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and Code of Conduct).
Mandatory requirements
- Education: higher degree.
- Postgraduate in Business or Management Development.
- English and Spanish “Advance – C1” level.
- Office Advanced Level.
- Experience: 10 years in the pharmaceutical/biotechnological industry having at least one of the following positions:
- Same position in another company: 1 year
- or Commercial Excellence o Access Director: 2 years, with previous sales experience of at least 5 years.
- or RBD-JNV: 4 years, with previous experience of 5 years as Product Manager or Marketing Lead.
- Residence in Madrid.
