The BU Manager will ensure that the business unit is meeting goals that contribute to the overall success of the company. This person will work seamlessly with key members of the Business Unit Brand Team, involved in analyzing market trends and training and mentoring staff. Through strong leadership and comprehension of the true needs and expectation of a diverse customer base, the BU manager will create and implement strategies to reach targets placing the patient at the center of any efforts and operating within AbbVie business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations. Major Responsibilities Analyze and explore market trends; identifying new opportunities in assigned regions Hold accountability for allocated BU P&L in terms of BU sales and financial planning (Financial Plan, Focus/Update, Long Range Plan). Overseeing tender business development in South Africa and Region Africa. Building effective relationship with the clients to maintain, understand and meet their needs as well as addressing the concerns of organization stakeholders. Maintains knowledge of the healthcare system anticipating potential opportunities and risks on the business and adapt strategy accordingly to help in shaping the healthcare environment. Serves as a key contact for input and interpretation of issues that impact product demand and supply, sales, and costing. Has primary responsibility for working with different functions in a teamwork spirit such as Supply Chain, Operations and Planning to resolve these issues as required. Optimize resource utilization by leading, monitoring and reviewing company’s project activities and ensure that they are brought to completion within scheduled period and budget Coordinate with other heads of departments, integrating objectives and ideas for organizational growth Responsible for training and mentoring the team; motivating them all for effective performance for the general achievement of unit objectives Role model the AbbVie Ways We Work behaviors and enable the Brand Team matrix to work in achieving high quality strategy and execution capability in all allocated products. As Brand Team Leader Lead the Brand Team around a vision and objectives that are shared by all members. Ensure Brand Team Members contribute to the development of the franchise strategy through the Planning process in line with strategic objectives and ensure adequate involvement of multiple functions as relevant for the Franchise. Take accountability and responsibility for Brand Team activities and processes (organize / chair / facilitate Brand Team meetings). Key Stakeholders: External - Government and Policy Makers, International Organizations, Advocacy Groups, all other stakeholders as defined in the Franchise NNLRP Internal - Functional Leaders, Affiliate Management Team, Operations and Planning (Global), Quality Assurance/Regulatory, In-Field Team members Qualifications Basic: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Determinate experience in Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and handling multiple projects in a matrix leadership environment Relevant experience with proven track record of success in tender and contract management within pharmaceutical industry Ability to execute strategic business actions plus knowledge of territory and relationships with key stakeholders already established Proven track record of successful leadership, management and coaching of teams and individuals. Excellent working knowledge of healthcare environment and evolving landscape Operates and leads effectively in a matrix structure Solid knowledge on finance principles and processes and English language proficiency verbally and in writing. Preferred: Proven track record of success in tendering, marketing, and sales within healthcare ecosystem Strong knowledge in HIV/TB environment, stakeholder relations and ability to navigate in cross-cultural business setting.
