Job Description
Eaton’s Corporate division is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our Tijuana facility. The Buyer – Purchasing is responsible for to support business SCM in the procurement operations. This position is responsible for executing procurement-to-pay processes for assigned Aerospace facilities. This person will deliver a high quality of customer service with an ongoing bias for continuous improvement. The procure- to-pay process work stream will include supplier and part set up, purchase order management, supplier scheduling, planning and action message reports and finally payment process management. The role will require individual to be familiar with a complete range of procurement functions. This includes understanding materials purchased, negotiations with suppliers and the ongoing management of supplier relationships. This person will be experienced and be able to manage in all government compliance and ITAR and EAR classifications. This is a multi-site role with assignment to remote plant locations. The senior buyer will serve as an individual contributor and as a lead for assigned regional area with supervisory responsibilities for assigned buyers and plant locations. This person will train and support buyer roles as per direction of the shared service manager and functional site manager Some activities related with the position will be: RFQ Management – Request RFQ’s to suppliers, and depth analysis of RFQ’s, recommendation to commodity managers / plants on the RFQ / suppliers. Negotiation – Should have experience in negotiation with suppliers as it relates to PO placement and PO management. PO Management – Expediting, de-expediting and cancel as well as past due and PO acknowledgement. Requisition to PO Creation – Discrete PO order placement and PO justification as per government and internal controls. Invoice on Hold – Able to understand the issues of Invoices on hold and the resolution ensuring the payment is done. Supplier Management – Worked on supplier addition / modification in the system. Report Management – Should have good experience on different report generation and analysis for these reports. Project management as assigned and required of the assigned site. This will include supplier transitions, supplier rationalization and process improvement activities where the buyer will take lead for the results of the team results. Buyer will be responsible for identifying and setting up supplier parts that qualify for supplier schedules, VMI-C and VMI-O. Quality management of the supplier is a requirement which includes supplier corrective actions, and disposition of rework, return and recovery of cost associated with the non-compliance. Leadership attributes - be able to work and develop a team. Conflict management an escalation process. Training and process orientated – should be able to on-board new hires, deploy new process or retrained the team depending on the needs. #LI-PR1 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s with 3-5 years of experience in SCM processes Strong Knowledge in Microsoft Office Need to have working Knowledge of any ERP. English and Spanish language fluency (writing, reading and speaking) Good communication skills to work with teams remotely Quick response to deadlines and priorities Hands on experience in purchasing functions Training and development of buyers Ability and willingness to objectively handle tactical complex high-level operational challenges. Lead and train buyers Serve as back-up for buyer roles Meet and exceed the same requirements of an on-site buyer Preferred Qualifications: Self-directing and self-motivating An individual with a strong sense of urgency and customer focus Accurate working with data analysis Hands-on to work with multiple tasks Must have handled complex situations and suppliers.
