Eaton’s Power Reliability is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility. Must reside within a 50mile radius of the work location(s) listed on this posting. No relocation is being offered for this role. Position Overview: The Buyer will have responsibility for the releasing and on-time delivery of purchase orders for raw material and production support activities. This role will be responsible for resolving any procurement, quality, invoice, and inventory-related issue including appropriate SAP transactions. Part consumption behavior and other parts' characteristic analysis will be key components for this position. Interface with customer service, internal and external suppliers, Product Engineering, and Production is critical to ensure a high level of support to satisfy the customer. In this function you will: Interact with suppliers to communicate delivery expectations, forecasts, design changes, lead time management, and material expedites or delays to ensure suppliers meet Supplier On Time Delivery (SOTD) goals. Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance opportunities. Involved with strategic sourcing to align negotiations, new supplier selection, and Supply Chain strategy. Review purchase requisitions, place purchase orders, issue change notices, and review exception messages to ensure delivery of materials or services as necessary to adhere to production schedules. Maintain material master records for assigned materials; ensure accurate PIR records, and source lists, and promptly reconcile supplier invoices for payment. Review part consumption characteristics to ensure appropriate planning parameters are maintained. Review and maintain internal/external Kanban replenishment, vendor-managed programs, scheduling agreements, and blanket orders. Provide root cause corrective action when needed. Participate and lead continuous improvement opportunities Proactively avoid material shortages Review and maintain purchase order date accuracy and maintain MRP health. Issue consignment statements and inventory to suppliers Work cross-functionally to resolve complaints and clear blocks Quote parts with suppliers When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with an expected graduation date of 2024 Minimum one (1) year of experience performing Supply Chain related functions in a manufacturing environment Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of South Milwaukee, WI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience performing purchasing functions in a manufacturing environment Proficient experience with purchasing and planning using SAP APICS certification (CPIM) Demonstrated capability of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies-Green Belt certification a plus Proven experience with quality assurance and reporting accuracy Proven knowledge and applications skills with process improvements Position Criteria: Demonstrated negotiation experience Ability to work with engineering teams and all operations-related departments Understands key MRP health metrics Why work at Eaton?
