Eaton Mission Systems, formally Cobham Mission Systems, is seeking a Buyer at our growing Orchard Park, New York facility. Hybrid-Remote (2 days from home weekly) option is available! Position Overview: They will be responsible for procuring all materials required to manufacture products from the right supplier, at the right price, to maximize profitability, following established purchasing policies and procedures. In this function you will: Procure all materials required to manufacture products from the right supplier, at the right price, to maximize profitability, following established purchasing policies and procedures. Utilize MRP/ERP Software to determine parts needed, order frequency and to maintain and reduce supplier lead-times. Negotiate and administer purchase orders in support of production needs. Determine and maintain levels of inventory to meet organizational metrics and keep inventory at prescribed levels. Issue requests for quotations to support customer bids. Works with sourcing and program team to select suppliers for bid and award from the approved list in order to achieve program objectives. Review and understand purchase order terms and conditions. Manage/modify open and past due orders with suppliers, adjusts schedule as needed. Monitor supplier performance, prepare reports and other records. Resolve discrepancies related to purchasing, delivery, receiving and accounts payable invoices. Coordinate returns to the supplier for discrepant material from receiving inspection. Contributes to continuing improvement efforts across all facets of supply chain. Work with the commodity team to ensure that supplier communication and related KPI metrics are in support of the IPT’s needs; Participate in performance management meetings. When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing, distribution, aerospace, or medical environment OR Associates degree/HS Diploma (or equivalent) plus 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, distribution, aerospace, or medical environment 2+ years negotiating experience Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee. No relocation will be offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50 mile radius of the Orchard Park, NY facility will be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation Preferred Qualifications: Experience in manufacture or organization design of mechanical or electrical assemblies for aerospace and defense mechanisms. Experience in materials management or purchasing Experience with ERP Software including Oracle, purchasing, work in process, and inventory modules of Oracle ERP system, ability/willingness/desire to learn if applicant doesn’t have specific system experience Experience with Supply Chain processes, soliciting quotes, creating, and issuing PO’s, negotiating prices, order acknowledgement and tracking, expedites, Invoice maintenance, Kanban, Supply Chain Optimization, interacting with other stakeholders and IPT. Experience with Windows based software, specifically Excel and Word. Knowledge of Systems and Procedures as it pertains to the materials management function and Purchasing Standard work. Experience with inventory management tools including Kanban, LTA’s, AMPA’s, Performance Management, SIOP process. Strong Negotiation skills; Experience with functional contracts and commercial capability. Proven ability to thrive in an Office or Remote work environment.
