Job Summary Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw material and components and assist on purchasing issues. Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture products by performing the following duties. Monitors the flow of activity through the ERP to ensure customer orders are satisfied. Tasks Review production materials and components requisitions. Checks lists of required materials (BOM) to book new work orders. Confers with suppliers to obtain product of service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid. Prepare purchase orders or bid requests. Reviews bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. Expedites delivery of goods to users from suppliers. Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer’s orders. Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements. Coordinate weekly production meeting with Production, Quality and Manufacturing departments. Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead time. Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Prepare productions reports to follow up the work orders and Purchase orders. Prepares purchase orders to obtain materials and components. Follow up components arriving on time, materials at the Distribution Center, materials shortage. Coordinate delivery time of materials requirement in relation with order control and manufacturing process. Provide Schedule information to production supervisors and manufacturing engineers. Keep informed of components problem and their status, which can affect production and customers deliveries. Generate production work orders as needed. Request the scheduler to release Production work orders in a timely manner. Prioritize and follow Expedites, in conjunction with the Foreman, starting when the information is received until the pieces are shipped. Follow Production Schedule to anticipate shipping dates changes and on time inform the responsible parties. Coordinate with Production to ship on time (shop floor control). Develop the Master Production Schedule (MSP) each month optimizing service while constraint by resources.
