Job Description
Job Summary Primary role is to ensure accurate materials purchasing and call-offs to fullfill master production schedule. This includes supplier forecasting, turning requisitions into purchase orders, monitoring supplier confirmations and shipments. Material planner maintains purchasing and inventory parameters according to replenishment strategies, and ensures material availability according to production schedule.. Job Responsibilities Analyze data and collaborate with Master Planner to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory, and replenishment policies Release purchase orders based on MRP messages Identify current and potential material shortages, develop and execute recovery plans with production, procurement and R&D team Escalate materials shortages to external and internal suppliers with support of procurement team and site leadership Maintain systematically purchasing parameters in MRP according to replenishment strategies (leadtimes, safety stock, re-order points etc) Manage material inventory levels to meet agreed plant DOH and inventory targets Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy, co-ordinate material flow to production with warehouse team Manage supplier and freight invoice flow according to accounting principles Take part in supplier meetings and provide feedback to procurement and commodity teams Maintain monthly KPI's for function (supplier OTD, Material shortages, Inventory levels). Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor of Science/Logistics/SCM/Business Adminstration. Years and area of experience required: Min. 2 years experience in supply chain, sales&operations planning, material management, demand and supply management.
