PRIMARY FUNCTION: Eaton’s ICD-Frontera group is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our Juarez facility. The Buyer MRO is responsible for a variety of activities of planning procuring, negotiation and follow up activities to provide a variety of commodities in support of the planning process of electrical manufacturing. The position drives continuous improvement while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for quoting, negotiating, and purchasing standard and special items Process and work inventory management reporting tools including, but not limited to: Purchase Order Requirements Generation, Process Purchase Order Reports, Open Purchase Order Reports on a weekly basis Responsible for issuing purchase orders to the supply base Effective management of the open order board, ensuring system updates with accurate information for all orders Manage elevated expedite orders and coordinate with the appropriate personnel to ensure minimal production interruption Quote standard and smaller dollar items that support company goals and guidelines Responsible for timely processing of purchase order confirmations from the supply base to ensure accuracy of purchase order details Active participation with the supply base to develop relationships Disposition of rejected material within the assigned buying areas by coordinating across departments to ensure minimal interruption to the customer Support accounting through timely resolution of invoice discrepancies Purchase of MRO material for maintenance and any other department that might need it Conduct a correct and fair bidding process for supplier selection. #LI-DS1 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Education and Skills required to meet position qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. At least two years of experience in MRO work activities for a manufacturing site. Professional written and verbal communication skills Bilingual (Spanish and English) Proficient computer-systems knowledge and application skills. Knowledge of, and ability to apply, purchasing and supplier management best practices - including supplier selection, performance metrics/reporting, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement methodologies. Preferred/Additional Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position): Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications. Knowledge of, and ability to appropriately apply, analytical and problem-solving skills including problem solving, supplier sourcing, and statistical analysis tools. Ability to define problems, eliminate root cause(s), and create supply chain solutions and/or process improvements. Effective people/interpersonal, communication and customer care skills.
