How will you make an impact?
The Buyer/Planner III is responsible for planning and buying raw materials to support the site production plan, managing inventory, and serving on client core teams to coordinate material planning.
 
What will you do?
  • Create and maintain firm / planned orders in SAP in to keep the production plan and raw material plan in alignment with the master production schedule.
  • Maintain BOM accuracy by analyzing raw materials actual usage compared to BOM quantities.
  • Manage raw material inventory to defined targets including tracking and analysis.
  • Evaluate safety stock levels on an ongoing basis and adjust as necessary to ensure product availability to established targets.
  • Track and monitor client contingency materials to support visibility of inventory liabilities and timely reconciliation.
  • Conduct regular reviews of raw material inventory to identify any expiry or obsolete risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Participate on client core teams for material planning and addressing any raw material issues.
  • Conduct material assessments in support of new client programs.
  • Place PO’s and manage supplier deliveries to requested need dates.
  • Manage material planning for designated material groups using expedite / de-expedite signals and run out reports.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and escalate issues as needed.
  • Identify and manage raw material risks / issues.
  • Work to resolve any QC/QA inventory issues to release inventory.
  • Develop and maintain metrics.
How will you get here?
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience MRP, raw materials, and production planning within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.  
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive problems to resolution.
  • SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices, standard operating procedures and lean manufacturing. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills (both written and oral). 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, create teams and resolve issues.
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
