Job Description

CI CHINA MARINE PROGRAM MANAGER

Conservation International (CI) has been protecting nature for the benefit of all for over 30 years. Through science, policy, and partnerships, CI is helping build a healthier, more prosperous and more productive planet.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with field team for projects design, implementation and monitoring towards sustainable landscapes/ocean and blue economies.
  • Assist Marine Program Director to liaison with relevant government departments, corporate, research institutes, universities, other NGOs to expand/amplify CI’s impact on marine conservation in China.
  • Collaborate with CI HQ and CIC’s communication and fundraising teams for program expansion and development.
  • Represent CIC in various occasions including HQ meetings, government meetings/workshops, stakeholders’ meetings/workshops to demonstrate and promote CIC program when needed.
  • Provide technical support to CIC’s management team and other staff when needed.

Deadline for submissions is November 30, 2018.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Typical office environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience on conservation, spatial land/ocean use planning, natural resources management, environmental economics or environmental planning relevant to conservation and development issues. A Master’s degree in this same area would be preferable.

  • At least 4 years work experience in project management/implementation or similar area of expertise.

  • Good networking skills and knowledge on international and national NGOs in China.

  • Excellent communication skills both in English and Chinese (reading, writing, oral and presentation).

  • Ability to delivering presentations; interpreting and presenting information to suit the target audience.

  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders from local and national governments to the private sector.

  • The preferred candidate will be self-motivated, team-oriented and able to meet project deadlines often under difficult circumstances.
