Working alongside the senior management team, the Business Development / Commercial Manager will be responsible for championing business development and customer acquisition strategy by creating, implementing and executing a sales and marketing plan that leverages our key hotel and travel partner relationships, building solid travel agent partnerships, and securing marketing and media partners.
The Business Development / Commercial Manager will understand the needs of our partners thoroughly helping to translate their needs into exciting revenue opportunities for our businesses.
Growth will be measured in three ways:
- Contract values;
- Ticketing metrics;
- Client relationship metrics.
The ideal candidate will have existing senior level contacts in the tourism industry in China (in particular Guangdong), Hong Kong and Macau and be able to demonstrate an ability to generate leads, negotiate contracts, and develop long-term relationships that deliver value to the bottom-line. Key responsibilities include:
- Working collaboratively with our hotel partner(s)
- Developing our partner/client database;
- Working with the senior management team to define and document our commercial strategy which includes the identification and evolution of our offerings, and determining resource needs;
- Implementing the strategy to grow our business;
- Manage the sales and marketing pipeline to ensure a stable business growth. A key measurement is net revenue and year-on-year revenue growth;
- Responsible for driving business across markets, where success is measured by the revenue generated from these markets;
- Collaborating with the senior management team to support the sales process, including the creation of sales and marketing collaterals and proposals;
- Identifying new qualified opportunities for ZIPCITY using an established network as well as expanding upon that network whilst in the role;
- Serve as a role model and demonstrate leadership to peers by embodying our core values, and share insights that relate to the products we offer. This includes educating team members on industry trends so that they can better advocate our service offerings to our clients.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- 5+ years’ experience in a commercial role, ideally in the tourism or attractions industry, with at least 3 years in a commercial management role;
- Fluency (spoken, reading and writing) in Mandarin and Cantonese, and proficiency in spoken English;
- Proven experience in proposing and closing commercial contracts;
- Strong strategic thinking abilities with demonstrated success in leading sales effort and executing sales plans;
- Superior communication, time-management, relationship management, and presentation skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
The Business Development / Commercial Manager will receive a base salary and performance bonuses upon accomplishment of agreed objectives.
