Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: As part of the CPS Business Line, directly reporting to the General Manager, the Program Manager is responsible for the successful execution of the NPD Program(s) and Other Key business Programs/ projects and appropriate budget allocation. Lead the Integrated Product Team(s) to drive customer satisfaction, continuous improvement and life of the program financial performance by managing customer programs, contracts, and business relationships. In addition this role will also be responsible for the planned plant expansion of the CPS Espoo facility, drive VAVE as well own business process continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manages the Profit and Loss of the NPD Program(s) and projects. Responsibility, Authority and Accountability (RAA) for every project scope delivery and successful execution within technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments. Execute IPT (Integrated Product Team) leadership across the Program. Seeks team input to promote rapid resolution to issues. Coaches and provides feedback/rewards on performance indicators. Supervises the Project Managers assigned to the Program (NPD, plant expansion PM etc.). Establishes objectives and goals and provides direction to the program and project teams in areas of customer concerns, potential changes in scope and risk assessment. Facilitates the implementation of program management processes at the business line. Manage effective program communications. Improve organization responsiveness to customer requirements. Manage customer expectations and commitments internal to the business. Ensure standard program management processes are utilized and adequate support to the program and project teams by coordinating PM reviews, preparing & publishing PM metrics and reports. Maintain metrics for program for earned value (CPI/SPI), quality, technical performance and delivery through all of the PROLaunch phases. Manages all risks and requirements of the program through effective planning, controlling, integrating all projects into the programs and measuring all elements to ensure the requirements and goals are successfully achieved. Manage customer contract, pricing, terms and conditions and contractual flow-down through the organization. Establish and negotiate pricing strategies by system and/or product, market and by customer. Ensure effective change management process is utilized. Provides periodic program updates (Program Status Report – Green/Yellow/Red) of current situation relating to contractual milestones and problem/high risk areas (e.g., technical, cost, and schedule). Provides updates to the business units as well as divisional, and sector levels. Plays a key role in developing New business proposals and executing the overall program plan. Provides overall Program interface with Senior Leadership and the customer. Coordinates and monitors program technical personnel across multiple sites. Factory Expansion Lead the project to develop a new site for Eaton operations in Finland. Project covers collecting and summarizing the business needs for the new facility, get construction company and partners to execute the construction work, manage the co-operation with the partnering companies, lead the Eaton equipment installation to the new site, ensure needed changes to current processes will be implemented and lead the move of the operations to the new site. Business Process Continuous Improvement Linked to the “Digital Momentum”, Deliver breakthrough levels of improvement in process capability and process efficiency, driving designs and business processes to reduce defects and attain world-class levels of quality Mentor employees in the use of CI tools (TQM, TPS, Lean, Six Sigma, VSM, etc.) Work with teams to uncover and assess CI opportunities, serve as a change agent in institutionalizing CI, ease of doing business, 6S, and quality. Constantly seek, share, and implement best practices Apply CI tools to improve process capability and eliminate defects and waste Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Bachelors degree required; Engineering or Business degree preferred. 6-10 years experience in Program Management; or a combination of Program Management with some Engineering and/or Product Development Management. Experienced in Electrical New Product Development (NPD) programs. Proven Leadership skills - capability to lead change in an Integrated Team (IPT) environment across multiple sites and customers globally. Leadership scope: 5-8 direct reports Fully demonstrating to proficient in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes and tools. Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP) or equivalent highly recommended. Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer. Experience in Risk Management. Strong analytical skills and business acumen. Broad knowledge of the Electrical industry. Can effectively and comfortably speak to all levels of the organization.
