PURPOSE OF JOB

 

CVS Lead supports the planning and execution of product and business projects in terms of development, launch execution, and post launch evaluation. CVS Lead will partner with the CVS Manager to support all commissioning, validation and start up activities for specified projects.

Note that primary responsibility will support the commissioning of new equipment over a two to three-year period of continuous improvement project work, then transition into a full-time associate role after that time.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Support all CVS activities including project launch execution
  • Coordinate commissioning, validation and start-up for major and small minor projects at the site
  • Communicate with Site management ensuring appropriate resources are in place
  • Develop the CVS plan including Global Best Practices for Quality & Food Safety
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures
  • Transfer equipment knowledge & operation through factory directed training or personal hands on training
  • Create detailed work instructions for temporary support of new projects
  • Set up and chair meetings related to CVS activities and project information
  • Resolve cross functional issues and agree on actions, follow up on actions, define and report on milestones
  • Support site CVS activities including coordination of resources, collaboration with engineering group,  

     leading cross-functional decision-making teams concerning project activities, developing the CVS plan,  

     creating standard operating procedures and maximizing the operational effectiveness of start-up

  • Although not directly responsible for the CVS budget, the Lead must make decisions based on budgeted

     amounts and understand its trade-offs

  • Support Vendor Acceptance Testing/Factory Acceptance Testing as needed for projects
  • Deliver projects safely with high quality on time and within budget
  • Lead new equipment and agreed on performance metrics including TRS, Production Reliability, MTBF

     & loss elimination

     opportunities throughout the site and implement lean solutions to reduce waste, improve yield, increase

    TRS, and maximize productivity, labor and equipment utilization

  • Support the hand-off to MSE ET Pillar is done with proper step-up cards during the validation and start up.
  • Create SOP’s for all new processes and equipment
  • Collaborate with maintenance to assure all PM’s are completed
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Project Manager to assure all spare parts have been accounted for
  • Support lean execution programs - including lean training and implementation of lean programs

DESIRED EDUCATION

 

  • Associates degree in related science or business field or two or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with experience in project management and CVS experience for a major or complicated process

 

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY AND IMPACT

 

  • Input into choice of vendor and acceptance
  • Review equipment, machinery, processes and systems with references to project business objectives and conformance to technical, regulatory and safety standards
  • TRS performance and shorter learning curves with proper CVS techniques
  • Waste reduction costs during learning curve
  • Recommendations and input to engineering for design and installation for new and existing projects and equipment
  • Collaboration with R&D for process and product development including new flavours,
  • Training budget management for new and existing projects

 

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

 

CVS Lead has responsibility for planning, organizing and executing systems and equipment related training for contract employees, technical and Operational associates.

No direct management responsibility of Associates. CVS Lead has responsibilities for managing, training vendors, Associates and contractors on site including ensuring the availability of quality training programs.

Responsibility for training and developing CVS Techs for new projects.
