We seek to hire a Certified Welding Inspector/ Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Customer Service team in McClellan, CA, and lead all aspects of the quality of welded locomotive components and assemblies. What your day-to-day will look like: Perusing your view of the Air Force Base, you'll perform a variety of inspections in the Carshell welding and Bogie manufacturing areas. Operate computerized inspection equipment such as Faro-Arm, Laser Tracker, and A-Scan devices. Apply multiple non-destructive testing techniques to verify the acceptability of welded and machined components. Conduct the first article of inspection on parts, assemblies, equipment, and tooling, then provide summary reports/diagnostics. Enter, maintain, and extract information from Material Resource Planning, Non-compliance tracking tools, and Configuration Management System. Ensure all work performed is to the correct configuration revision and within the requirements of applicable drawings. For your safety, we require: AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) Certification Certification in two or more of the following non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques: Die-Penetrant (PT), Magnetic-Particle (MT), Ultrasonic (UT) Validated experience in a weld shop environment CWI inspection of increasingly difficult inspection involving the application and proven understanding of sophisticated measuring techniques. Complex dimensional, drawing, and weld standard interpretation experience.
