JOB PURPOSE:

To be responsible for the deployment and implementation of CXL strategy and lean manufacturing. To provide overall managerial direction for CXL’s quality organization by supporting product quality, supplier quality and manufacturing quality. This is accomplished using improved process control techniques, data analysis, and interfacing with internal process partners and external customers.

Personnel: 30+ management and salaried, around 80 hourly employees


JOB DUTIES:

Manages the process of developing and implementing CXL strategy to help CXL meet business goals.


Oversees the implementation of CXL Lean manufacturing and be accountable for the overall deployment.


Implements a "Zero Defect" culture.


Develops, communicates, and implements CXL quality strategy that facilitates process improvements, conformance, internal certification and defect reduction through the implementation of quality systems. Manages high performing teams in the continual development of a quality management system that supports Internal Certification, enhances customer satisfaction through defect reduction, and is focused on lean manufacturing.

Manages all quality issue resolutions between different function teams to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. Sponsor and support quality 6 Sigma projects to execute process and product performance improvements.


Develops and manages budget and resources required to achieve goals.


The position manages a department through subordinate supervisors/managers and professionals. The incumbent provides direction, focus, motivation and encouragement for subordinates. The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.


Typical internal customers include employees from all function teams of the facility. External contacts include various customers, dealers, and suppliers throughout worldwide markets. The position must confront complex issues or problems which require careful analysis and diagnosis. Problems are often unique and solutions may require original approaches. The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan. Impacts on key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), timeliness, cost reduction, process quality, part quality, internal certification, etc. The position monitors and reports on all key quality metrics.


Qualifications


Background/Experience:

The position requires a BS degree in engineering or manufacturing plus familiarity with company manufacturing facilities, processes, and equipment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing operations and quality disciplines, tools, and techniques is required. In addition, twelve to fifteen years of progressively responsible job-related experience are typically required. Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative team relationship with others inside and outside the department. 6 Sigma experience as a Green Belt, Black Belt, or project sponsor would be highly desired.
