Our position

Capability Development Partner – Oncology

Permanent, Full-time

Location: To be assessed based on candidate availability

The Capability Development team is a group of learning and performance experts focused on enhancing and empowering field force excellence. We assess, design, and partner on initiatives to optimize field force operations, capabilities, and performance. Our ambition is to actively develop the performance and potential of ourselves and others. We believe in optimizing learning opportunities beyond the traditional workshop format and strive to integrate a micro-learning approach that will enable our sales force to learn in the flow of work.

The Capability Development Team leads the development of enterprise-wide capabilities in addition to brand specific learning initiatives. We partner across the organization to build capabilities in the areas of scientific knowledge, selling skills, customer engagement and performance coaching to support the launch of new products and ensure continued success throughout the product’s life cycle.

The Capability Development Partner – Oncology will work with the cross-functional brand teams to optimize field force performance and drive desired business results for the brands.

Your roles and responsibilities:

  • Drive the Capability Development Strategy within your brand teams and project assignments to meet the overarching departmental vision.

  • Implement the Performance Partner Framework methodology which integrates the key tasks, thinking and roles required to achieve success in capability development at AZC.  

  • Be a performance partner to the brand team; inform strategic and tactical brand planning; translate the business strategy into performance requirements for the field force.

  • Uncover and assess; seek performance improvement opportunities; be proactive, inquisitive, and collaborative.

  • Design and Develop; explore and develop solutions with impact; challenge, inspire and collaborate.

  • Implement and Evaluate; execute and measure development solutions; execute with excellence.

  • Sustain and Learn: sustain development gains & learn for continuous improvement; extend, embed, and improve.

  • Hold final accountability for all content and learning assets; follow policies and ensure compliance guidelines and accountabilities are clearly represented in all commercial learning material.

  • Enable New Sales Representatives to reach their full performance potential and provide a great customer experience by helping them acquire the foundational therapeutic knowledge, selling skills and capabilities to use the internal sales tools and systems.

  • Utilize emerging technologies and experiment with new learning methodologies.  

  • Model AZ values and behaviors consistent with organizational culture.

  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial mindset by leveraging in-house resources and manage third party suppliers as appropriate.

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales or healthcare role

  • Knowledge of learning concepts and facilitation skills are strong assets

  • Knowledge in Oncology is a strong asset

  • Bilingualism is preferred

  • Some travel is required
