Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Optimally manage all aspects of Eaton's capital structure and its public securities while mitigating risks such as interest rates, currency, commodity prices, and credit spreads. Raise funds in the public and private markets and maintain relationships with credit rating agencies and bond investors. Assist in due diligence of acqusitions and model and implement the optimal funding of acquisitions and divestitures. Conduct share repurchase programs. Develop financial strategy materials for the finance committee of Eaton's board of directors. Oversee management of Eaton's retirement assets and strategies to manage pension liabilities. MAIN FUNCTIONS: Develops the optimal capital structure strategy and deploy on a global basis, including managing relationships with rating agencies and preservation of Eaton's credit rating. Leads projects to issue public securities, private placements and bank transactions consistent with the optimal capital structure strategy. Manages a portfolio of interest rate derivatives to target a fixed/floating strategy, including the placement and unwinding of interest rate swaps. Also manages net investment hedges other derivative instructments. Leads financing strategy for merger & acquisition activities, including financial modeling, forecasting, and rating agency interactions. Actively places hedge trades to support the derivative portfolios and generate economic value. Coordinates the management of Eaton's long-term debt portfolio, including financial reporting, processing interest payments, making debt repurchases, and forecasting interest expense. Serves as primary interface with Accounting, Law, and Tax departments for Capital Markets issues and projects and ensures that transactions are recorded appropriately. Conducts open market share repurchases and supports development of capital allocation strategy. Prepares materials for the Finance Committee of Eaton's Board of Directors. Makes annual dividend policy recommendation and coordinates all dividend payments. Oversees Eaton's pension and retirement assets, implementing and reviewing asset allocations as well as developing strategies to manage pension liabilities and expense. Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or related field required; MBA preferred. Years and area of experience required: Minimum of 10 years of progressive strategic finance experience. Direct experience in capital markets strongly preferred. Technical knowledge: Corporate finance, derivative strategies Soft skills: Strong analytical, reasoning, organization and problem solving skills.
