Job Description & Summary

A career in our Education practice, within Priority Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help organisations prepare for tomorrow by taking advantage of infrastructure sustainability trends, bridging the gap between academic education and practical work experience by developing market ready professionals, and working to address challenges related to food safety and quality management where population and demand continues to increase.

Our team helps incoming graduate students develop into market ready professionals who are self aware, knowledgeable, and adaptable through practical work experience. As part of the team, you’ll assist in providing on the job training and experience as well as provide graduates with the opportunity to develop leadership skills through exposure with Fortune 500 companies across all industries.

• Guide students in determining their interests and abilities using a wide range of methods, such as aptitude assessments, interviews and planning materials
• Counsel individual learners, working with them to aid in the development of both hard and soft skills
• Help students craft a long-term/ mid-term/short plan for reaching their career objectives
• Facilitate group career development workshops/ individual talk on a variety of topics, including writing resumes and cover letters, successful job interviewing, using external databases and career development resources, researching graduate programs, and more
• Review both current and past reports about the student(s), in a bid to check their progress levels and also make further recommendations if need be
• Work with students to overcome issues that could undermine their You Plus course results, practical training performance or career success
• Collaborate with You Plus faculty, staff and Career Services divisions to help students and You Plus team to achieve You Plus Course goals.
• Plan and publicize the career services center’s programs and events such as workshops, and orientation sessions
• Mediate in the case of misunderstandings between students and teachers
• Listen to students’ problems at all times, especially when it has to do with their academic, social, or emotional lives, and suggest solutions where necessary
• Maintain relationship with PwC internal and external industry mentors to make sure of quality delivery of daily work.

Job Requirements:

• Excellent communication skill (especially listening skills) is highly required for an education counselor to have to be good on the job
• Patience should be a virtue worn at all times by individuals who work as education counselors
• Ability to be proactive and not reactive at all times is of great importance
• He/she must be easily approachable by teachers and students That is to say that the counselor should be friendly and accommodating
• 5-8 years of working in a people engagement / talent development role in HR function of an international professional firm and in corporates is preferred.
• Bachelor degree in Education or other majors who has relevant years experiences in HR/Talent development area.
