Job Description

Reports to: Head of Cargo Services Planning & Systems
Department: Cargo (CGO)

 

Purpose:

  • To achieve efficient gain and enhance customer satisfaction through successful global implementation of e-Freight and e-AWB for the Cathay airline group.
  • To drive and influence the development of IATA e-AWB and e-Freight programme towards the directions which will help maximize the benefits for the Cathay airline group.
  • To plan, oversee, optimize and drive values out of CSS system and GLSHK related systems to serve business needs for both external and internal customers.
  • To ensure Champ delivers quality solution and consistent performance to meet our day to day operations.
     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive efficiency improvement in the day to day enhancement, configuration and support of CSS system.
  • Drive and increase value and effectiveness in CSS system by creating new community solutions with Champs other Cargospot airline customers.
  • Develop and execute people development strategy to improve team member capabilities and efficiency over time, and to build up internal systems and process expertise, and drive innovation developments.
  • Delivery and implement roadmap of CSS and GLSHK related systems to meet cargo business strategies.
  • Build a strong and mutually beneficial relationship among Champ, GLSHK and Cathay Direct the team to plan and develop the e-AWB & e-freight implementation program.
  • Direct the team to manage, design and implement e-AWB & e-freight to all online stations.
  • Work closely with IATA managers to promote e-AWB & e-Freight to the industry.
  • Direct and develop the communication and alignment plan, both internally and externally. External parties include IATA, airlines, freight forwarders, service providers and authorities.
  • Represent the Company to participate e-AWB & e-freight industry meetings and events. Direct the team to develop tools and systems to support the program.
  • Direct and support local cargo offices to recruit freight forwarders to participate in the program and build the critical mass as quickly as practical.
  • Direct the program to convert and migrate from paper base to paper free cargo operations.
  • Responsible to measure the benefit, monitor the result and adjust the implementation plan as required.

Personal Responsibilities

  • Represent CX Cargo in a professional manner when dealing with IATA, Authorities, Ground Handlers and Forwarder Customers.

 

Requirements:

Skills

  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English. Spoken and written Chinese is preferred, and spoken of Putonghua is an advantage.
  • Polished interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to lead and work with people at all levels and in cross-sectional teams to achieve the best result and implement changes.
  • Sound management, planning and organization skills with the ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks within defined time constraints.
  • Excellent business acumen with strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications e.g. MS office.
  • Well established network with industrial leaders, airport community and relevant authorities will be an added advantage
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills

Knowledge

  • Tertiary education.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in aviation Cargo industry with at least 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong airline knowledge: Experience in the air cargo business, systems, processes and procedures.
