Your purpose will be:

To maintain the carpentry in the hotel to the highest standard as well as planning and executing seasonal, creative builds throughout the hotel   
 

You will be accountable for:

  • Identifying and carrying out all carpentry and builds for the hotel
  • Keeping stock and materials list for required jobs up to date
  • Maintaining highest standards for the carpentry and safe operation of issued tools and equipment
  • Planning creative builds for the hotel whilst working closely with other departments 
  • Identifying opportunities for carpentry related improvements across the hotel

Your key responsibilities & contribution will be:

  • To respond to all guest repair and departmental repair requests promptly
  • To manufacture, install, maintain and repair the carpentry relate issues within the Hotel to the highest possible standard.
  • To be first point of contact for other departments job requests
  • To regularly check stock and to report to supervisors what needs ordering
  • Communicate rooms and areas needing repair and time lines on how long the work will take 
  • To meet all service standards in every guest interaction
  • To keep all equipment and tools provided by the hotel are kept in good repair
  • To work well alongside other departments and other colleagues within the department to ensure smooth running of the hotel
  • Communicate any delays due to any unforeseen problems in a timely manner so expectations can be managed  
  • To keep work areas clean and tidy at all times and use signage provided by the hotel
  • Maintaining a high standard of personal grooming and appearance 

What you will need to do this role:

Essential:

  • Carpentry qualification city and guilds or NVQ level 3
  • History in set building or design builds
  • Ability to work alone and be a good self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels
  • Enthusiastic and positive personality with the ability to build trusting relationships
  • Ability to multi task and problem solve in a fast paced environment
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Proven organisational skills. Work well on your own. Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results
  • Flexibility to work different shifts including night shifts  Willing to work in rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Rights to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a luxury hospitality environment
