? Testing new ideas in the feasibility phase and reporting the data to the supervisor.
? Supervising technician or operators to carry out the experiment and obtain reliable data.
? Should be hands on at the factory floor during trials when necessary and proactively review performance in casting.
? Supporting or leading the project to introduce new product and new process.
? Testing casting and process optimization for performance enhancement, the yield improvement and cost down.
? Work closely with engineers in other areas for improvement and develop creative ideas to solve problem and improve processed followed by support for implementation.
? Report writing for feasibility test and technology qualification.
? Analyze experimental data as well as defective parts to assist in root cause analysis
? Provide the support to project managers/engineers during the implementation and roll out stage of projects.
? Develop and update documentation for production, handling guideline and trouble-shooting guides.

Education
Bachelor Degree in Polymer Science or Chemistry areas

Work experience
? Good knowledge of Applied Chemistry and Polymer Science,
? Experience in Polymer Curing/Processing, general plastics or Ophthalmic Lens Industry would be highly regarded.
? Very good at speaking English including oral understanding and written English.
? Computer literacy and proficient with MS Office package. Process modelling software experience would be of benefit.
? Experience with equipment and machine setups and mechanical operation and processes.
? Good at process data collection, analysis and reporting.
? Demonstrated problem solving skills.
? Experience in Product development and Process Improvement activities highly regarded.

Specific Knowledge/Skills:
? Practical hands on capability to to work closely with shop floor staff.
? Willing to travel to foreign country to provide technical support, attend workshops and general development activities.
? Good ability to research and learn new technology and raise new ideas.
? Good team work spirit
