Category Development Leader

We are looking for a customer focused and driven category leader to join our Category Development Team at Mars Wrigley Confectionery (MWC). The role will lead the development of category growth strategies for the customer(s) and provide insight and thought leadership. The successful candidate will be the voice of the category, customer, and shopper internally, driving the category agenda of both MWC and the customer(s) to optimise growth.

• Category and/or customer management experience is essential
• Strong stakeholder management skills with a proven record in building and maintaining internal and external relationships
• Comfort working and influencing cross functionally within an organisation
• Someone who can use a mix of market, shopper, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and execute these with high standards.

 

What would be your key responsibilities?

• You will create short- and long-term category strategies for customer(s), aligned to MWC and customer(s) strategies and category vision.
• Provide insights through to action to maintain/improve/drive the customer’s category performance in confectionery.
• You will build strong and influential relationships externally and internally, focused on delivering shopper, channel, and category centric solutions.
• You will engage cross-functional resources to deliver growth opportunities.
• You will be the voice of the customer, category, and shopper internally and build understanding within the wider Demand function on Category and MWC performance and trends.
• You will support the creation and development of the Category Action Plan for customer(s), delivering against strategic initiatives.
• You will support the customer(s) range reviews through providing analytical and category management support.
• You will aid in the creation of bespoke compelling category selling stories to support the annual activity plan to maximise MWC’s initiatives.
• You will support the Category Development Head through providing accurate, data led category insights and analytical support as and when required.
