The Role

We are looking for an experienced Category Manager to join our team! This is an important and exciting role in our business, which allows the Associate to play a key strategic and influential role in shaping our current and future business performance.  Working closely with Marketing, Sales & Finance, you will be instrumental in delivering our Category Strategy, as well as leading point of purchase strategies, category reviews, analytics, and insights.

 

Reporting to the Category Insights lead, you will be responsible for:

• Category lead for Confectionery range reviews for key customers as well as segment team
• Business lead for space and Perfect Store activities
• Identify, measure, and quantify marketplace trends and opportunities
• Develop category plans and strategies to meet retailer & Mars NZ objectives
• Provide direction to Category analysts as required for planograms, reports, and presentations
• Foster strong relationships with the field team by proactively delivering store level category solutions and recommendations

 

To succeed in this role, you will bring;

• A minimum of three years sales experience or category /space management within an FMCG organisation
• A creative flair, and passion for category development
• Strong organisation and planning skills
• Business, strategy and financial acumen
• A tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce would also be an advantage.
