Abbott Diagnostics Division is looking for a
Category Manager (m/f/d)
(as Associate Lead Category Procurement) based in Wiesbaden.
The primary function of Global Procurement is to purchase goods and services in an effective and economic manner at high quality and in compliance with applicable regulations and procedures. The incumbent is subject matter expert for enzymes and other biologic ingredients that are used in the manufacture of in-vitro diagnostics.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement global procurement strategies for the category of biologics that support the business and drive direct savings
- Manage international supplier relationships, pricing negotiations and contracts
- Monitor and analyse global market trends
- Analyze supplier key performance indicators and support risk management for the supply base
- Work closely with suppliers and global operations to improve the quality, specifications and value of goods procured
- Analyze complex supply chain related opportunities; take a broad perspective to identify and deliver solutions, drive change
- Travel 10-15%
Your Profile:
- Degree in biology, chemistry or biotechnology.
- Successful track record in procurement, supply chain or deep category experience; minimum 4-6 years.
- Strong project management, change management and negotiation skills.
- Experience with supplier management preferred.
- Lead change with interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence and networking skills.
- Must have strong use of spreadsheet programs and data analysis expertise.
- Experience with procurement, contracting, compliance and business tools utilized in supply chain (SAP) preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and German.
- Strong sense of personal accountability for evolution and success of the entrusted program.
