Position Summary
The incumbent is responsible for the Cell Culture commercial objectives within North America. This position will work with the division’s Regional Sales Directors and District Managers to grow new business opportunities and drive profitable revenue growth. This position requires an in-depth understanding of the market and the customers and will ensure consistency in implementation and execution of the division’s sales strategy and processes.
Part of the Bio-Production Division (BPD), this role will report to the Cell Culture Global Sales Director, and will work with a multi-tiered regional team and will work collaboratively with divisional functional leaders to meet short and long-term sales goals.
Responsibilities
Revenue Growth and Territory Expansion:
- Partners with sales leaders in executing a comprehensive sales strategy and processes that deliver revenue growth and improvement in sales efficiency
- Responsible for driving tactical execution of strategic plans into market and achieving annual operating goals and plans
- Directly manages the activities of the sales team, setting goals, developing and accessing activity and sales metrics to meet growth objectives. Instills a “hunter” approach. Advocates for the customer, for product quality and compliance and provides excellence in customer solutions
Liaison with Marketing and Finance
- Evaluates market/customer purchase practices, preferences and trends, selling activities and distribution methods for reaching target market and customer segments.
- Provides input on market trends and customer feature/product requests for new product development. Partners with sales and finance leadership to drive accurate forecast and fulfillment of DSBU bookings plan for AOP.
- In partnership with Finance, develops pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, for high-profile customers and partners
- Prepares annual and quarterly budgets and staffing plans for the commercial organization that supports the business’ strategic plans.
Education / Experience Qualifications
- Education – B. S. Degree
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in bio-production sales
- Demonstrated leadership role in developing and executing business level sales plans
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting, developing, and managing high performance sales teams, and demonstrated ability to command the respect of both technical and business teams
- Technical skills in strategic planning and sales planning
- Ability to leverage CRM management tool to measure and monitor activity, progress towards sales goals, and results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
- Travel ~ 50% both Domestic and International
