Center Academic Principal
Kunming No.3 Middle School International Department & Kaplan Centre
Job Type: Full time (40 hours per week; 16 contact hours + 24 office hours)
Responsibilities:
1.Lead the academic team to achieve teaching objectives and student’s management;
2.Summarize teaching hour requirements for different subjects, make teaching proposal for different programs subject teaching, for regional principal to approve;
3.Responsible for subject teaching faculty allocation for different programs, involve in new hire and training;
4.Approve subject teachers’ daily and weekly teaching plan;
5.Approve selected teaching material by subject teacher, approve collected teaching material for all subject and manage it effectively;
6.Execute subject teaching;
7.Timely monitor the subject teaching quality to ensure teaching quality improvements;
8.Support Center Principal to coordinate with overseas academic institutions;
9.Responsible for testing and marking arrangements;
10.Communicate and interact closely with relevant departments;
11.Responsible for periodical work summary and produce termly and yearly report;
12.Assist to manage the introduction of new programs at delivery centers;
13.Support marketing activities at local center;
14.Support Quality Assurance department with teaching assessment and program development.
Requirements:
(a) Essential Qualifications and Experience
1)Academic qualification at post-graduate or equivalent level or relevant professional qualifications
2)Normally a minimum of five years teaching experience
3)Normally a minimum of five years education management experience
4)An understanding of Western and Chinese higher education system
5)An understanding of international postsecondary courses as well as the needs and requirements of international students
6)Experience of academic assessment and standards and of quality assurance procedures
7)Experience in the development of academic programs
(b) Essential Skills
1)Demonstrable cross-cultural awareness and understanding
2)Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop staff
3)A commitment to teamwork
4)A proven ability to manage resources effectively, whether human or physical
5)Good communication skills
6)Competence in the effective use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT)
7)Proven planning and organizational skills and an ability to take initiative within curriculum and policy objectives
8)Financial competence
9)The ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work under pressure and, when necessary, with minimal resources
(c) Personal Characteristics
1)Outward looking and student sympathetic
2)A willingness to learn, to improve personal teaching and management effectiveness and, where appropriate, an ability to adapt
3)Practical with high integrity, honesty and ethical standards
4)Enthusiastic and committed with stamina and a positive attitude
Contracts: one year renewable
Remuneration packages (per year): We offer a very attractive package which includes salary starting from RMB240,000 net /year depending on qualifications and experience plus RMB48,000 per year housing allowance, flights, baggage allowance, health insurance, settling-in allowance and paid leave.
