Job Description:

Sr. Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical & thermal interface development projects related to our pick & place handling platforms. Ability to work with in an international development team and a proactive work ethic is a must.

Must have:

• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Skill tracking issues for multiple, time-critical projects across different departments.

• Product development leadership abilities

• 5 yrs. experience in product development & design

Responsibilities include:

Design of tester interface hardware for pick & place handlers. Work with customers and account managers to understand requirements and lead development efforts to successful and on-time conclusions. Ability to work with a diverse international team is essential for success.

• Design responsibilities will include:

  • Applying DFM principals to precision mechanical assemblies

  • Perform tolerance analysis

  • Build and test prototype assembles

  • Develop and document design standards for product families

  • Apply manufacturing practices to reduce cost including molding, sheet metal and design standardization.

• Design prototypes for customer special project/evaluations. Support procurement, design and test. Product validation reports.

• Drive failure analysis investigations, publish findings and implement corrective actions.

• Understand and promote design and material choices to reduce manufacturing cost.

• Understand and communicate the customer's technical and schedule goals to our DI business unit and to Advantest manufacturing.
