UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, change

The China country office (CO) is embarking on a new country programme development for the period 2021-2025. UNICEF’s main priority in China is the country programme. A mid-term review in 2018 identified some changes and further change is anticipated in the new Country Programme whose development has started in 2019. UNICEF China has also been increasingly working with the Government of China on South-South Cooperation. Working with China on both domestic and global priorities presents the opportunity to benefit of children not only in China but globally. This is resulting in changes in the way UNICEF is working both at HQ, regional office, and country office level with China.

UNICEF’s efforts in South-South Cooperation with China aim to work with key partners to deliver results for children at scale around the world. The Country Management Team recognises that this is a strategic change to be continuing with a strong country programme in China and increasingly collaborating on South-South Cooperation. UNICEF China is actively seeking to manage the transition positively and effectively.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF China during the Country Programme Development process anticipates possible realignments and some turnover of staff. To support in adjusting to these changes in the new cycle, the office wishes to engage a change management consultant. The consultant will report to the HR Manager and will be responsible for supporting development and implementation of a change management plan, based on a rapid analysis of the ongoing and possible changes at CO level. The intention of the change management plan is to support managers and staff with necessary tools and techniques, through training and coaching, to adapt to possible change and to continue to perform in a changing environment to deliver results for children in China and beyond.
