Do you enjoy a fast-paced environment that leverages teamwork and partnership with key Retail Distributors to drive growth in the retail industry?  The Microsoft US Channel Sales Account Executive position supporting 3rd Party Marketplace, Windows and Office business development in our Distributor channel is the job for you.  This position is focused on developing a business model within third-party marketplaces that enables Microsoft’s portfolio to educate and expand their fan base through sites that accurately represent and promote their products.  This position will also be responsible for driving growth through business development in Windows and Office product categories working with distributors. 
 
Customer experience is also a key component in the position as there are two “customers” with which you will interface- partners and end users.  Feedback from both sets of customers is essential to ensure Microsoft stays relevant and successful in the marketplace.  You will provide updates to internal teams on a regular basis which influence product development, media plans and corporate strategy.  If you enjoy excitement and diversity, this job is for you.  The distribution channel is unique and fast paced as the retail industry continues transforming. 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Analysis & Insight on Accounts 

Partner with accounts, category and channel marketing teams to evaluate analysis, sales trends, pricing and promotional trends to drive successful outcomes that achieve monthly sell in and sell through targets and in an ever-changing marketplace 
Evaluate partner profitability through collaboration with finance and operations 
Provide industry, market direction/trends and how are we positioned with the accounts relative to our competition back into Microsoft  
Partner Relationship Management 
Build and maintain Merchant relationships with each account building and establishing a regular meeting cadence to understand and anticipate the transforming retail landscape  
Drive customer satisfaction through regularly scheduled team engagements to align on joint business plans that are reviewed quarterly including Channel Marketing and Category counterparts 
Accountable to land quota targets by product into the account plans (revenue and gross margin) 
Business Operational Excellence and Execution 
Collaborate with category management, supply chain and operations to ensure forecasting of product is optimal for sell through attainment and optimize for no more than 6 weeks on hand other than key beats. 
Sales Capability 
Establish and communicate direction for sales motions that deliver successful outcomes against revenue and gross margin targets. 
Understand the products and be able to sell at a high level 
Collaborate and contribute to a motivating environment that drives team best.

Revenue and Gross Margin achievement that meets or exceeds plan and quotas. 
Accurate and predictable forecasts. 
Well-executed sales optimization and productivity plans 
Well-developed sales initiatives and strategic programs that drive overall growth

Proven sales leadership and team management of 4 or more direct team members 
Four Year college degree required preferred 
5+ years plus selling experience in the field and/or HQ 
Field Consumer and retail marketing knowledge and experience 
Understanding of digital marketing, e-tail, grey market, accounting, supply chain and operations.
