The Consumer and Device Sales (CDS) organization works with ecosystem partners to build, market and sell a winning portfolio that delights customers and earns fans around the world. CDS is great part of the Microsoft business to make an impact because –

The WW Channel Sales Lead, drives global strategy, programs and partner engagement/development framewoks across our Retail Market Makers, Strategic Partners, and Retail Distribution partners.

 

Strategic Sales Planning (35%)

  • Build WW Consumer Channel sales strategy utilizing industry knowledge and trends, channel partner insights and consumer understanding to drive Consumer Channel growth and accelerate business model transformation
  • Define sales strategies to compete and win share in the market and inside our partner business across all current and future portfolio of offerigns across categories
  • Develop digital transformation approach in alignment with the overall Microsoft vision and product long range plans, and support partners in their omni-channel evolution
  • Drive Consumer Channel segmentation, optimization, scale and Microsoft’s strategic resource allocation for growth and transformation

Sales Management (40%)

  • Support global execution of Consumer Channel plans to agreed metrics and targets, orchestrate internal Rhythm of the Business with simplification and effectiveness
  • Drive improvement in partner satisfaction through the enablement of strategic account planning, timely issue resolution and partner support
  • Take active role in operational sales processes, understanding how CDS and our partners operates as one to win in the marketplace
  • Be a trusted advisor and lead a one Microsoft approach to partners through planning, strategy, programs and processes to drive satisfaction and engagement to world class levels
  • Orchestrate internal WW executive sales reviews and rhythm of the business for Consumer Channel, including key account plans and performance monitoring
  • Coach regional sales teams to successfully engage and drive influence with Consumer partners and achieve key performance indicators
  • Utilize financial acumen to drive win-win outcomes in support of local teams and partners that deliver growth
  • Lead and coach complex partner management negotiations and plans to transform business models and offerings

Leadership and People Development (25%)

  • Thought leadership on the retail and consumer business for Microsoft, inspiring a future focus shared vision across partners and our people
  • Hire, develop and coach a diverse and high performing team with a strong culture of inclusiveness and compliance
  • Lead channel sales leaders community and talent strategy, development of capabilities for the future, and partner with CDS leads for the development of strong sucession plans
  • Lead role excellence and skills development strategy for all related roles to our channel sales business

Responsibilities

  1. Drive global strategy for our Consumer Business, segmentation and resource allocation.
  2. Identify and develop future partners and consumer channels
  3. Drive growth through distribution as a strategic engine, capture new channel opportunities through unmanaged partners and develop marketplaces as a scale engine
  4. Support the growth of Microsoft Online Stores and MS Solution at retail through close operational alignment
  5. Deliver our accountabilities to the company (Revenue, marging, Growth, Activation Units, etc)
  6. Strengthen partner satisfaction and engagements with quality Account Management and related business processes (Planning, ROB, CPE)

  8. Model high ethics and trust to comply with our standards of business conduct and business practices
  9. Lead development and landing of all Channel partner programs with high simplification and compliance

 

Qualifications

Experiences Required:

  • 12+ years Consumer Electronics/IT ecosystem experience with a focus on devices and services sales across consumer segments
  • 10+ years people leadership experience and capabilities to hire, grow and develop diverse talent 
  • Maintain effective internal and external partnerships/networks, ability to create impact in highly matrixed organizations
  • Driving transformation and business growth through Consumer channels
  • Deep insight into Consumer and SMB trends and selling through channel to serve the consumer
  • Experience with digital transformation and omni-channel evolution leading to joint profitability
  • Coaching and negotiation internally and externally to bring products to market that will win
  • Strategic business planning, analysis and insight to capture growth opportunities
  • High standards and ethics in business practices
  • Ability to learn/ramp fast to achieve impact

Skills:

  • Entrepreneurial and innovative thinking to identifying and executing business opportunities
  • Ability to identify and influence multiple stakeholder groups, and navigate across complex organization
  • Able to effectively articulate technology and product positioning to internal audiences and channel partners
  • Experience leading Consumer Sales and Product Category teams
  • Knowledge of how to monetize Consumer Market/Channel trends and insights, focusing on value selling and go to market
  • Strategic sales planning, development and implementation; customize solution/value selling
  • Sales operational excellence driving growth, profitability and reducing risk
  • Orchestrating complex negotiations with and among partners
  • Financial acumen (budget, forecast accuracy, P&L, ROI, and OPEX accountability)

Qualifications and Education:

  • Higher University/College degree required – MBA preferred
  • Professional sales and negotiations training
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management platforms
