How will you make an impact?
As a Chemical Management Specialist, you’ll be a part of the important research being done in the lab by supporting and servicing our customers onsite managing 80,000 chemical products.

What will you do?

• Coordinate chemical transfers via requests in chemical database
• Maintain chemical stockroom inventory
• Provide customer support to clients
• Perform audits of cross-functional areas
• Review, create, and maintain company data log sheets
• Follow procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & work instructions
• Assisting in registration of chemicals into a chemical database
• Delivery of chemical packages within a laboratory environment
• Work effectively with a diverse cross-functional team

How will you get here?
Education

• HS Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of college studies focused on chemistry; organic chemistry preferred​

Experience

• Customer service experience preferred
• Experience with MS Office Suite
• Experience in laboratory setting or services preferred; experience in GLP/GMP environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Ability to effectively read, write and speak English
• Ability to display a high level of confidentiality for both customers and Thermo Fisher
• Ability to be proactive in your approach to problem solving and operating independently
• Ability to be flexible in changing schedule
• Must have a safety mindset
• Detail oriented and enjoys working in a team environment
• Strong sense of urgency, time management and organizational skills
• Ability to pass through areas where chemical based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.)
• Ability to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment including lab coats, coveralls, and/or safety gloves where necessary
