Responsibilities

• Responsibility for project-based research and development in collaboration with others
• Gain and maintain familiarity with current scientific literature and contribute to the process of a project
  

• Develop new products and modify existing products in the Performance Materials and Apparel & Footwear portfolio to meet market and customer needs.

• Serve as liaison and subject matter expert, particularly in the area of polymer chemistry, between the business units and manufacturing sites.

• Explore external sources of inspiration including but not limited to suppliers, universities, trade associations, exhibitions to ensure appropriate technology incorporated into the Coats’ Innovation process early in the development cycle.
  

• Perform general lab assignments (e.g. raw material inventory review, lab house-keeping) as assigned
  

Requirements:

• Master degree in Polymer synthesis, Materials Science, Textile Chemistry
  
• 5 years R&D experience in the polymer materials industry
• Good knowledge of textile fibers and coatings
  
• Fluent oral English; good written English
